In order to use all features of Archive Binge, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration, a user provides their chosen username and signs in through one of the provided social media authentication methods. The information pulled from the social media service to identify the user consists of the user’s OAuth ID. No additional information is requested or stored.
If you choose to provide it, Archive Binge will store a picture of your choosing (“User Avatar”) and your email address. Your email address will not be shared with third parties and is only used to send a periodical digest of your comic subscriptions. On the reader site (reader.archivebinge.com), information is transmitted over an unencrypted connection. This is due to the mixed content that comes from embedding comic websites which often cannot be served over an encrypted connection due to the limitations of many comics’ hosts. No sensitive data is transferred to or from the reader site. If you are a registered and logged-in user, the main site transfers your user ID to the reader site and the reader site transmits the pages read and your decision to subscribe to or favorite a comic back back to the main site. No other data is transmitted over this unencrypted connection.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline.
